Dallas Orioles Game Recaps

Pirates - 5
Orioles - 7 WP: Cody "QB1" Gladney (2-0) SV: Josh "McEasy" McEachin (1) Your Orioles were back in action on Sunday with a skeleton crew of 9 after having a season-high 15 show up. On the bump was the old war horse, Cody Gladney. The game started off with the Pirates putting a couple of runs on the board with four hits, all singles. While this might have frustrated mere mortal men, this wouldn't stop Gladney on this day. The Orioles got back to even in the third with Carlos Colon, leading it off with a double to right, getting him off the schnide for the year. After a couple ground ball outs, Tanner "Bachelor" Stevenson drew a walk and Boston Coppedge hit a double to the right center gap, scoring both Colon and Bachelor all the way from 1st to tie it up at 2. The Buccos scored once in the 4th and twice in the 5th to push their lead to 5-2 into the 7th inning, where the bottom of the order got the rally started. Cass singled and was followed by Colon hitting his second double of the night to the left center gap. With runners at 2nd and 3rd, Jake "Jameson" Bellington singled to left for his second of three hits on the day, scoring Cass and getting the O's to within two. After another hit from Frenchie to load the bases, Bachelor unloaded a smash to the right center gap, scoring Colon, Jameson, and Frenchie, ending up on 3rd for his first triple of the year. Coppedge struck out looking and walks to McEasy and Gladney brought up Kurt "Special K" Karnowski to hit a sac fly to left to score Bachelor and give the O's a two-run lead. Gladney delivered a monster effort in a game where we needed the starter to put in a lot of innings and that's exactly what he did, giving us 7 solid innings. Gladney final line: 7 IP, 5R, 3 ER, 10 H, 4 K, 1 HBP, 0 BB, 178 pitches thrown (approximate). McEasy came on in relief for the final two innings and shut the door. O's defense showed some shaky defense making a couple errors in the 9th, allowing the Pirates to load the bases with one out but McEasy buckled down and got the final two outs without giving up a run. News and Notes: Boobstick Transfer: While this was going to be reserved for McEasy getting picked off on the bases at 3rd, he was bailed out by Jameson attempting to steal 3rd base on the sly between an at-bat. He was easily thrown out at 3rd, costing Coppedge an at-bat and giving himself the uncoveted title of Boobstick Owner. It was redemption day for Colon and Coppedge, both who had multiple hit days after struggling for the better part of the year. They hit multiple balls hard tonight in big spots. O's reach 10 wins and guarantee another winning season for the 4th season in a row. Nice job boys. Next Game: Tuesday 6/28, Home vs Braves, McInnish @ 6:45 PM Probable Starter: McEasy
